Help with an underweight and declawed rescue
My girlfriend and I found a stray while out walking the dogs. We took her to the vet and learned she was 6.1 pounds, spayed, not microchipped, and matted. We figured she was someone’s pet and for whatever reason hadn’t seen proper care in at least 2 months. While trying to do a routine nail trim we also learned she was declawed on her front paws. We tried putting her on a pain killer and joint supplements but she won’t eat the food if the joint supplements is in it and the pain killer seemingly reduces her appetite. She occasionally has accidents outside her litter box and tracks litter everywhere. It gets stuck to her front paws in clumps. We also tried switching her litter from a clumping gravel to a softer wheat but she still seems to prefer the other cats gravel litter. She’s also incredibly clingy and won’t eat unless she’s sure you’re watching. If anyone has any recommendations on anything i can be doing for her better I’d greatly appreciate it.
