Random rec SBMM isn’t fun

I was on another post talking about the same thing but felt it should be made into a post.

This is the same logic as to why I quit games.

The Fun factor I’m talking about is most found in the builder, and then the various situations where you can be useful. Not every game you will shine, but there should be at least SOME games you can dominate too.

That is what 2k’s match making system is missing and failing at. It’s biggest and more versatile area of FUN in this game is in Silver and Gold lobbies.

Not because these people are necessarily good or Bad. But because it MIXES good and bad people into them.

2k should have treated the Match making system as a Scouting agent’s masterpiece, not an after thought. Cool I get to see what my opponent has as a matchup AFTER I’m thrown together with strangers. But at that point it doesn’t matter.

The FUN of random rec would actually be dope if:

No matter who I load in with, they prioritize first Teammate grade and Assists Average.

Because these people are the most likely to be willing to just WORK TOGETHER.

After that, what they can factor PPG, RPG, etc. but then should do as real teams do and call it,

THE DRAFT SYSTEM.

Where the game smartly finds high performing players, or atleast archetypes that historically have Powerhouse chemistry, and then build the team around them.

Thats what players in game end up doing anyway. PGs ball hog, wing players complain about corner camping, and bigs feel reduced to just being a rebound machine with no real function. But finding and pairing good Supporting players, with efficient players turns games into fun because Random rec becomes arguments of ,” Can this scoring powerhouse out play this Defensive player of the year.” It forces the Star players to rely on their supporting players or risk losing the game.
