I Play to win games

What makes this game frustrating is all the Zen users, Titan users, and players who only care about scoring instead of playing team basketball. A lot of people don’t pass the ball and care more about their own stats than winning. I know it’s Random REC, but I think the games would be more competitive, and there would be a lot less quitting, if everyone played the game the right way.

Debating getting NBA 2k26 in the Steam Sale for $10. I played 2K since 2k9 but fell off a few years ago. Is 2k26 a step in the right direction?

Yo!

So I'm an old head and I've been playing for a long time. My first 2K was 2K9 with KG on the cover. Back then I had to choose between NBA Live and 2K and man I'm in Boston and the Celtics are my team, how could I not take 2K. I loved it. There was a steep learning curve and more advanced gameplay than Live but the MyPlayer mode was everything.

A few years later I'd fall in love with MyTeam and that was ALL I ended up playing. I never was able to get into MyNBA/Association but I really want to. So when I saw 2K26 for so cheap I was like yo maybe I should dive in.

Last year with 2K25 when Tatum was on the cover I gave it a chance. I played for 7 hours according to Steam and I remember thinking it was fine but I also felt like the game was unfair at times. I could not get into the MyCareer mode and wished it was more like MyPlayer back in the day where you'd just go through Summer League, get drafted, and try to bring a championship to a team!

I tried to look up reviews and everything is MOSTLY from around launch so its tough to gauge because I have always felt that everything is way more positive at launch than later in the lifecycle. I know 2K27 is around the corner in October so I'm trying to see if $10 is worth dropping for a few months worth of playing before then.

So I guess the bottom line is:

  1. Is 2K26 worth diving into for $10?
  2. How is MyNBA this year?
  3. How is MyCareer? Is it or is there anything like the old MyPlayer?
  4. How is the gameplay compared to 2K25? Step up, same, or worse?

Not even gonna ask about MyTeam because I'm sure it's the same.

Quitting games is out of control

2k needs to address quitting mid game this year has been the worst I've ever seen bring back the rubber band effect at this point anytime a team goes up by 10 in the first qtr at least 2 players on the other team are quitting. I feel like they should either just remove the ability to quit games period and or institute harsher penalties for quitting games 1-2 hour bans clearly arent enough to stop players from quitting games.

Block Attempt Stun Animation has to go!

This was awful on 25, a lot better in season 1 of 26 but crept back in through updates. All my bigs have 85 to 99 block and gold to legend pogo but all get hit with this terrible stun animation after attempting block in the paint. The attackers animation only lasts have the time so they get a free refund. I know 2K hates defense but as a big, this is infuriating to happen so often.

2k27Realism

Simple.

Most teams available rn, come get em.

Updated 27 roster with realistic rookies and sliders. Did my homework for both and have tested them. This will be fun. 2 weeks for regular season then push playoffs, simulated rounds every 3 days, push to off season. Play at your own pace, the more games the better. Simulating regular season after 2 weeks, regardless of games played.

Recently downloaded the UBR mod for 2K12

I checked out the USA 2012 Olympic Team and was surprised to find a young Anthony Davis with a randomly assigned 3D head. This was definitely too hilarious not to share

Pc vs Console rec wait time

Gold plate C and PF rec player on pc and I swear it takes at least 10 minutes to get into a game. I’m debating for the next 2k to just get it for my ps5. My question is are you console players having to wait that long to get into rec games at this point of the year?

Will I still be able to play online when 2k27 releases?

I'm thinking about buying the game due to its steam sale, but I'm wondering if I'll still be able to play online when the next game releases (rec or just regular games with friends online) or if the servers will be shut down.

Another question: I have a friend that has the game on xbox. If I buy it on steam, will I be able to play with him without any problems?

Inside Big - Redo Takeover Progression if your shooting attributes is below a certain rating

Not much to explain. Inside Bigs have to play damn near perfect games to get their Takeover and to KEEP it if they're not shooting 3's. I'm getting tired of being statically better than matchup with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists (as an example), but my matchup has Takeover from 2 3PT shots, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Also, it's not fair how defensive bigs (in general) can be penalized multiple times in a single possession by simply playing help defense which makes it harder to get Takeover. As stupid as it sounds, bigs should be immune to the defensive breakdown penalty unless it was their matchup that scored.

Why does no one pay attention to the startup banners.

If you see that your matchup can’t shoot or can’t drive or can’t play defense or you see a teammate that shoots 80% and scores 28 a game. Why would you not take that information to try and win games. I see so many people take this time at the beginning of games for granted. Also, I recommend having a few takeovers made/ selected so you can use them based on matchups.
