Mini Educator E-collar Training
I’ve learned so much from reading this forum and now I have a question of my own. My dog knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down, crate, wait, come) and I’ve recently started to research how to communicate with her via the Educator Mini collar.
I’ve watched videos from Larry Krohn, Suburban K9, and No Bad Dogs, and one thing is clear - everyone does it a bit differently 😅
However, my question applies to all methods (I think). Let’s assume I condition my dog to know that when she does the thing I’ve asked her to do, the stim is removed i.e. I say “Sit” and stim, stim, stim until the command that she knows how to do is performed.
Now let’s say she’s off leash 1/2 mile away and cannot hear my verbal command to come back to me. How does the dog know what I want her to do?
Are you pairing vibrate or tone with the “come” command only so that when the dog hears/feels it she knows to return and if they don’t you apply stim until they do?
I feel like I’ve got a pretty good grasp on the training technique aside from this one point.
