One of my close Marathi friends is getting married, and I’d really like to give her something meaningful rather than just a generic wedding gift.

She recently went through a breakup and then ended up getting married quite unexpectedly, so I want the gift to feel positive and thoughtful—something that celebrates this new chapter of her life without making things awkward or bringing up the past.

My budget is around ₹10,000.

What would you suggest? I’m open to anything—something traditional, useful, sentimental, personalized, or even something specifically related to Marathi/Maharashtrian culture.

I'm from Uttar Pradesh and I'm planning a 5–6 day trip to Manipur with my grandfather (he's a senior citizen but healthy and able to walk comfortably). We were thinking of visiting in the last week of August.

Our tentative plan includes:

• Loktak Lake
• Keibul Lamjao National Park
• Ukhrul (if it's safe and practical)

Before booking flights, I wanted to ask the people who actually live in Manipur:

1. How is the security situation for tourists right now?
2. Would you personally recommend visiting in late August?
3. Are there any areas or roads that tourists should avoid?
4. Is the Imphal–Loktak–Ukhrul route currently safe to travel?
5. Are there any restrictions, curfews, internet issues, or checkpoints that visitors should know about?
6. Is hiring a local driver recommended over self-driving?
7. How does the monsoon affect travel in late August? Are landslides or road closures common?
8. Are there any cultural customs or etiquette that visitors should be aware of?

Our main goal is to enjoy Manipur's natural beauty and culture while keeping the trip relaxed and safe for my grandfather.

I'd really appreciate honest advice—even if your recommendation is to postpone the trip. I'd rather know the reality before making bookings.
