Day 11 dry socket still hurts a lot but localized.

I'm at day 11 post extraction, diagnosed with dry socket day 7. The dentist irrigated the area and dressed it with dry socket paste immediate relief. The dressing is gone and the pain is back. It's a constant pain. It's very exhausting.

Any recommendations or suggestions will help a lot

Thanks

Diagnosed with Dry socket and infection

Got my lower wisdom tooth out last Thursday. Immediately after the numbing wore off I had intense pain that I thought was normal at the time and took Tylenol 3 for the night. I was given antibiotics as well which I failed to take for the first three days thinking I don't need them. The pain went up the second and the third day, face swollen and low grade fever. Still thought it's normal immune response since it was a difficult extraction.

Finally started taking amoxicillin 3 times a day. The swelling went down so did the lymph nodes but the pain was just there from the moment I woke up till I dozed off from last 2 days. Decided to go to an emergency dental clinic to get it checked out and sure enough I had a dry socket and a mild infection on the gum and cheek area.

I did not use straws, I did not smoke till day 5 and I ate properly.

It's still happened.

Hopefully it will get better from today.

What a painful ride.

I have a very high pain tolerance and I rarely took pain medication too but I would suggest anyone going through pain that they think is a bit more than expected go to the dentist right away.
