The Ultimate Yokai is a BIG DEAL

I don’t think people realize how powerful Vlad will be when/if he becomes the Ultimate Yokai. The Fairytale Card’s power alone is capable of creating entire worlds with their own rules. It can take control of people, temporarily removing body parts (Eyes, Ears, Mouth, Nose fists and feet. Going off of what Saint Germain looked like after taking the powers). It can force the person it takes over to use a power continually, far past their limits. If Vlad were to have all 6 powers, in theory couldn’t he be able to use the max potential of every power without limits?

If Vlad’s body is capable of keeping up with that, the DanDaGang is screwed.

My Understanding Of The Fairytale Curses

What are they?

The Fairytale Curses are 6 curses required to draw out the “Intrinsic Power” of the Fairytale Card, a powerful Yokai regarded as a demon. Saint Germain tricked FTC (Fairytale Card) into admitting defeat which allowed him to steal FTC’s power. Germain’s plan is to create the Ultimate Yokai using the Intrinsic Power of the Fairytale Card. And so he needs all 6 Fairytale curses.

Ayase Momo’s
Alice In Wonderland

Zuma Unji’s
Hansel & Gretel

Yukishiro Kouki’s
Snow White

“Flying Ace” Red Baron’s
Little Red Riding Hood

Sawaki Rin’s
Little Mermaid

Takakura “Okarun” Ken’s
Adventures Of Pinocchio

The pattern
A common theme is that each character has gone through (an) experience(s) that can be connected to their corresponding Fairytale Curse.

The Stories

Alice In Wonderland
Momo goes down a “rabbit hole” of events (searching for Zuma) that lead her to another world, “wonderland’ (Danmara/Cursed Trunk). She eats strange foods which result in her being shrunken to be a few inches tall.

Hansel & Gretel
Zuma Unji is betrayed by his mother, he goes through a strange “forest” (Danmara) with his sibling (Futa). There he eats structures made of candy, and finds the “witch’s house” (FTC’s castle). His sibling is later taken away (Shinobi steals Unji’s powers, which belong to Futa).

Snow White
Yukishiro, Kouki’s family name translates to Snow White (Yuki = snow Shiro =White). Aira is jealous of Kouki’s talent with the piano (similar to the Evil Queen, while Aira’s motives aren’t evil). She has “dwarves” that act as her protectors (the Pygmies, little men with pointed hats). A women named Queen acts as an antagonist for Kouki (though she’s in the wrong).

Little Red Riding Hood
Red Baron has “Red” in his name (he’s even referred to simply as “red”), he presumably wears red as well. He carried food (Rin and Kouki’s powers) to Grandma’s house (Vlad’s/Germain’s base). He was tricked and eaten by the wolf (Vlad betrays him and steals his powers).

The Little Mermaid
Rin is known to have a beautiful singing voice. She sacrifices her voice (She gives up her dream to be an idol after her friend dies). But she later recovers her voice (she helps her dead friend remember her past, unlocking idol powers).

The Adventures Of Pinocchio
Okarun wants to be a “real boy” (he wants friends, and he had to recover his boyhood, Kintama). He lies (he’s dishonest on multiple occasions, lying to Momo about doing a report, he lied about wanting to go on a date, and he’s currently hiding his real name from Momo). He had an adventure leading to a whale. And he wants to be stronger, and to be loved by Momo (again he wants to be “real”).

Powers

The connection between the Fairytale Curses and powers is still a mystery. The powers are what Vlad needs to become the Ultimate Yokai, but they must be taken from someone with a Fairytale Curse. Here are the curses and the power associated with them:

Alice In Wonderland
Psychic hands

Hansel & Gretel
Power of ‘Brella Boy

Snow White
Lord Of The Flies

Little Red Riding Hood
Smoke Yokai, Enenra

The Little Mermaid
Ombudsman

The Adventures Of Pinocchio
Power of Turbo Granny (supposedly)

Because it’s the power that Vlad needs, and the Fairytale Curse that qualifies the power to be used for FTC, I can infer that they are connected. For each curse, the individual had their powers at the time they experienced the fairytale. With the exception of Okarun.

The theory:

Here’s what’s confusing. Okarun has had experiences that align with The Adventures Of Pinocchio before AND after losing Turbo Granny’s powers. So does he still have the curse?

Do the curses stick with the powers? Or does the curse stay with the individual? The powers have little association with the fairytale. It’s the individual who has the experience, and they happen to have it while they have powers. If the curse stays with the power, then Saint Germain would be able to find Turbo Granny, steal her powers and finish the Ultimate Yokai.

But as far as we know Saint Germain hasn’t even tried this. So if a fairytale curse is in the individual, it would mean Germain would have to steal Turbo Granny’s powers, put them back in Okarun (reapplying the curse), and steal them back. Which could be an interesting plot line.

I’ve had theories about Okarun, the Ogre Club, and the potential that Okarun could have dormant innate powers. The origin of the Ogre Club is still a mystery. Manjiro supposedly received it from Seiko, and then Manjiro gave it to Okarun. Here’s something I never considered nor heard anyone else say: If it really was Seiko’s, why didn’t she teach Momo and Okarun how to use it when she sent them to fight Turbo Granny? I’d imagine that it’d quite useful. I mean, you could say that she doubted Okarun would be able to use it. But then shouldn’t Momo be able to? Why couldn’t anyone else but Okarun use it?

Some people have said it’s like Pinocchio’ nose. So what if it is? I mean, what if it’s an item specifically designed for The Adventures Of Pinocchio curse? Saint Germain has the ability to manipulate memories, and he has someone who can literally shape shift on his side. So wouldn’t it be easy to trick Manjiro? Some fans also suspect Manjiro of being a traitor which could also work if this is true.

I always thought of the Ogre Club as a sort of crutch for Okarun as he develops his own powers. So what if that’s Germain’s intention? He already knows Okarun has a history of being honest. What if he could manipulate events around him to force Okarun to experience The Adventures Of Pinocchio again? What if the curse and the powers are connected, and to lose the power is to lose the curse, but what if it doesn’t stay with the power?

Saint Germain has seemingly strong connections with the Kur. So it could be easy for Saint Germain to get Dris to help him, or at least manipulate Dris’s situation to have him work with the Serpos, who Germain knows are after Okarun. Which would naturally lead to Okarun having the experience of conflict involving a whale. Which could reapply the curse to Okarun’s new powers.

What do you think? This is all over the place because I don’t have much to go off of. I just think it’s strange that the Dragon Knights don’t know that Okarun has no powers. Did Saint Germain not tell them?

I think I can guarantee that Turbo Granny’s powers were at least previously attached to The Adventures Of Pinocchio, because Saint Germain tried to steal them, and now the Dragon Knights are too. But we’ll have to see next chapter, on June 1st T-T

Please tell me your thoughts! I don’t have time to re read this all so if it doesn’t make sense, it’s because I was tired and ill explain in the comments 😅
