I have choice paralysis - convertible car seat help

I have a Graco Turn2Me and don't like it. I've been considering getting a new seat for a while for a variety of reasons, but since I didn't /need/ it yet, I was feeling like I was being unnecessary. However, my son recently puked all over his seat multiple times and it is IMPOSSIBLE to clean, which was one of the consistently mentioned cons of the seat (not sure why I didn't listen!) I think this is my final straw. I am overwhelmed with the options and don't want to regret my choice! I was hoping I could get some help with a recommendation based on my car and child.

- 50lb rear facing limit (& safety ratings): My son just turned 2 (25 months) and is/was ~99th percentile. He's slowing down now, but he is still 35 lbs already. I would like to rf as long as possible, when I got the 40lb limit turn2me, he was very little and did NOT see this coming lmao

- Smaller car friendly - I have a Toyota Prius.

It doesn't have to rotate.

I would like to be spending around $400 or less, if possible, but am not opposed to spending more.

vocabulary - approximations

My son is 22 months actual today (born at 36w) and while he definitely has over the 50 words milestone by what counts as "a word" (with meaning/on his own accord/etc), but they're basically all approximations unless they're only one syllable or the same syllable twice. He got teeth late if that may have something to do with it (first two at 12m, next few at 15m, then a bunch all came in at once at 19-20 months). He's starting to put together two words like "police car" but it's "poe cah" and etc. My husband and I can mostly differentiate his similar sounding words such as ball vs brush and things like that, but it's still all limited to a handful of consonants. Is this developmentally appropriate? His enunciation is steadily improving, but sometimes I hear other kids his age talk and get a little nervous.

EDIT: Thanks for all the responses already, folks! I really appreciate it. I have little experience with kids his age so it's hard for me to know what's normal or not necessarily.
