I was terminated without cause from my employer of almost 3 years. I’ve had no disciplinary actions, performance issues. I was a good worker.

My privacy information was shared outside of work by my coworker. This would be a breach of our confidentiality contract. This put my safety at risk with who it was shared with. When I went to my manager, I was removed from the workplace. I had the completion of medical forms used for my concerns to be dealt with. I was removed from the workplace for 70 days with pay and I wasn’t given a returned to work date. I returned to a tarnished workplace. My private sensitive info was not contained and I was gossiped about. I continued showing up, acted in good faith. I was sent home from my own contracted scheduled day, yelled at by my manager, left out of a meetings, I wasn’t able to pick up shifts I had historically been able to pick up. While I was on a leave, I received a medical diagnosis related to the stress from how my employer was treating me. I had filed a human rights complaint and had to request oversight of the board of the organization. This seemed to be the only time my managers started handling things correctly. They have not followed policy and procedures ever. 4 days ago, they had asked a casual staff to work and after questioning why that person was asked to come in, they terminated without cause and offered me 6k to sign a release.

I have detailed documentation since 2023. What are my options? The managers have had other human rights complaint filed against them, which they have lost. I understand I could just walk away but it’s the principle for me. I’m exhausted from navigating the justice system as a victim, and fighting to be back in the workplace but I don’t think a non profit organization should get away with treating a senior staff member this way.

*I realize there are multiple things going on. I have proof of the privacy breach from an external investigation. I have a WCB assessment that shows adjustment disorder caused by my employer actions and not the actual work I do.*
