Really would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction🙏

About 8 months back in the gym after stopping for a little over a year. When I got back in the gym I weighed 138lbs (at 5’7), I’m now 150lbs. Obviously a good chunk of that is fat gain but I have definitely put on a decent amount of muscle in comparison to 8 months ago. My question is, is it too early for a cut? I feel I’m a relatively high body fat (around 20%?) but I’m hesitant on a cut because I’m not sure if the amount of actual lean tissue I have built is enough to truly benefit from a cut. Would it be worth it to just suck it up, continue my surplus, gain a little more muscle (and fat), or am I at the point where continuing a surplus would be unwise (bf related)
