Bad experience at Chanel
So I went to Chanel on rodeo dr, I’m a fashion enthusiast and I love the Matthieu Blazy collection just as much as the next girl. I really wanted to check the shoes. I’ve had a lot of luxury experiences before, in fact I just came out of Dior with another pair I bought, and didn’t think much of it when I decided to just check what Chanel had left in stock. I’m dressed quite normal and neat. Immediately I walk in and get greeted by an SA who immediately was being so passive aggressive. I tell him I want to see the Blazy collection and he immediately gives me an awkward look and pauses, then tells me that pretty much everything is gone. At every pair I asked to see it felt like talking to a wall. His tone was very sluggish and would barely look at me. Overall I just felt very uncomfortable and judged in there. I proceeded to take myself to the Chanel at a Bloomingdale’s nearby and luckily they had the pair I wanted. But I still can’t get out of my mind the disrespect I faced in there. I am definitely not the first nor will I be the last to be treated unfairly by luxury retail, but man even when you know it’s a possibility it still feels harsh when you actually experience it.
The comparison in treatment I received at Dior literally 20 minutes prior and across the street to Chanel, how entitled it is to see how some of these retails want to put themselves in a bubble and separate from the rest.
