Last weekend I visiting my family who live in the suburbs of a small town. I went to let my mom’s 2 dogs out and along with my dog. The neighbor’s dog somehow got out of its fenced in yard, came into my mother’s backyard and attacked my dog from behind. My dog has puncture wounds on his abdomen/groin that had to be stitched (twice because of the area). The neighbors agreed to pay the vet bills which are almost $3k which is great. But I’d like to report it just so there is a record of it and my mom really does not want me to because it will cause tension with the neighbors. This dog has gone after one of my mom’s dogs twice before, but nothing this serious. Am I overreacting for wanting to report it? Should I really just let it go since they are paying the vet bills?
