I recently received an incentive from my boss recognizing my performance as a newly hired member of the team. For context, I’ve been with the company for almost 5 months, but only 2 months in production.
I was honestly surprised because during my first month in prod, he wasn’t very pleased with my performance due to my errors/mistakes. I was actually traumatized by him since every time that I commit errors, he sets up a meeting with the team discussing it and intentionally shaming me from it. I even reached out to HR asking if I could be transferred to another team but was told that I am not yet eligible. What also made me curious is that another new team member didn’t receive the same incentive (he actually likes her more than me that’s why i’m suprised). Is this something normal in corpo world? It’s only my 2nd job that’s why i’m kinda surprised.
