The fitting for Tyberos is nearly complete

  • Since the shoulder among the original parts wasn't the right size for McFarlane, I received a replacement.
  • If the arms and claws are attached directly, the claws might move unnaturally depending on the arm's movement. Therefore, instead of fixing the claws to the arms, I modified them to rotate using neodymium magnets.
  • I moved the backpack's stabilizer jets to the elbows. I just wanted to do it. Jet boosters on the elbows? As long as I'm satisfied with how it looks, that's all that matters!
  • I used to wonder why many Tyberos models (Void Lord Tangaroa) don't use a cape, but I found out after making one myself. The attachment point for the cape is very awkward; if fixed, it restricts arm articulation, and if left loose, the cape settles into a very awkward pose. It's even more so because the cape itself is quite heavy. For now, I've driven a screw into the upper body to hang it. I plan to remove it later or change it if a better idea comes to mind.
  • I felt that most of Tyberos's poses tend to lean forward, and I realized that this is inevitable due to the nature of this model. Even if it doesn't actually lean forward, the vents on the thighs are so large that from the side, the model looks slightly tilted forward.
  • Although the configuration naturally limits posing significantly, there really aren't many poses it can take. Because of the chainfists/claws, it can't hold anything, and due to the limitations of the angles, the only poses that don't look unnatural seem to be roaring, an attacking stance, or standing at attention.
  • The tabard is in a shape that makes it quite difficult to position. Anyone planning to make this should keep this in mind. Unlike the traditional waist belt style, it ends up swinging freely and the center doesn't align. Since it is constructed as a cylinder, it seems to be an unavoidable shape.
  • Since there are no shoulder joints yet, I've attached them to each other with magnets, but because I've already used putty, I am considering painting it as it is.
  • McFarlane figures are too difficult to assemble after being disassembled for surfacer and painting. Especially with this model, which has been customized with extra parts, it's even harder because I'm worried about damage from the spikes and resin parts in every nook and cranny. For now, I plan to apply the surfacer and paint it in its currently assembled state.

This is based on McFarlane, not JoyToy. Size-wise, it is exactly the same height as a Primarch.

The shoulder pads were 3D printed too small, so I reached out to the seller for a replacement, and they've agreed to send them over. I'm currently waiting on those.

I'm incredibly happy with the overall size and level of detail. However, since I have absolutely no clue how to paint, the thought of actually painting this model feels quite daunting. For now, once the new shoulders arrive, I'll swap them out and spray the disassembled parts with Citadel's Grey Seer primer.

There are so many different color interpretations out there, and I haven't made up my mind on the main armor. However, I've definitely decided to paint the lightning claws red to stay true to their name, Red wake-Hunger and Slake
