Ultramarine 2nd Company Firstborn!

Bit of a repost, as I have posted this figure previously, but with some updated features. I am also working on a firstborn captain that I hope to share soon!

Ultimate Kitbash?

I’m not a big TT guy but have always held love for the knights and god machines of the mechanicus and the lore/ table top models for them, I’ve just never had the money so to say to invest in a static warlord model as shown, and had an idea recently.

So now I pose this idea here to gage the plausibility of it and if it’s actually a decent idea to work on if plausible.

If I got the knight and stripped it down to the skeleton would I not in theory be able to graft/ bash warlord parts onto the now empty frame of the knight since they seem relative to each other in overall scale ? How hard would this be if so? In theory this would allow for me to create a pose-able Warlord that **COULD** still be based for TT play per chance ?

What are your thoughts on accessory packs?

Just speaking on 40k Space Marines since that’s my bread and butter but these could work for anything. Personally I’d love to see some kind of accessory packs get made like small packs of belt accessories, shoulders with different markings and alternate heads. I think Joytoy would make a killing off of them alone especially making some chapter specific stuff. Given how the new intercessors are very modular with the extra pouches and grenades i’m surprised this hasn’t been done yet.

What do you guys think about this figure? Worth pre-ordering?

I’m considering pre-ordering this Black Templars Ancient, but I’m still on the fence.

Based on the pictures, what do you guys think? Does it look like a good addition to a Black Templars collection? Do you think it’s worth pre-ordering, or would you wait for other releases?

I’d really like to hear your opinions before deciding.

Figure Hopes / Predictions

Does anyone have any solid predictions for what will be released before 2026 comes to a close, or any characters you hope to see?

He’s a blood angel I swear he’s just colour blind.

Joy Toy QC

Their QC and general quality is crap, this is one of many figures that I have that are just falling apart displayed on a shelf.

Will they ever get their act together?

Or is it just my luck?

Does this Grey Knight look smaller than the others, or is it just me?

I’m thinking about buying this figure, but I feel like it looks noticeably smaller/shorter compared to other Grey Knights. I can’t tell if it’s actually the figure’s proportions or just the pose and the huge banner making it look that way.

For anyone who owns it, does it actually look smaller next to other Grey Knights in person? Or am I just overthinking it before buying?

Tutorials for custom painting joytoys (Donnay)

- all credit for these pic are from donny(milk brother….i don’t know why don’t ask)

Since Joytoy has released another shitty cash grab I thought I would share the facebook of a fellow taiwanese who shares a ton of tutorials and tips on painting joytoy.
I’ve learned alot from his instructions and clips and he show some simple upgrades to advanced stuff.

How would you rank the Primarch figures?

I currently own 4 of the Primarch figures.

My subjective ranking of them in terms of them as figures, not by the character's lore:

  1. Lion El'Johnson - Sword, Shield and Gun, plus a range of head sculp options. Aside from additional shading, and correcting the typo on the sword sheath, I don't think the figure needed anything else. Struggling to decide which head to use between the armoured helm, or the helm covered by the hood - both are excellent.
  2. Guilliman - Whilst he comes with a relatively sparse amount of accessories. I like the design of his armour a lot, which puts him above Leman Russ. I would have like an alternative head sculpt. If they wanted to impress, a deactivated version of the sword held a status field pedestal.
  3. Leman Russ - Objectively a better figure then Guilliman in terms of accessories, but lacks an armoured helm.
  4. Rogal Dorn - The lack of shading against the all gold look makes him look more cheap then the other primarchs. Also lacks a helm, which would have been a great addition.

I would recommend all four as figures to anyone's collection, as they really stand out among the space marines, however, Dorn would be the lowest priority.

How would you rank the Primarch figures you own?
