First Pap Smear….
Guys i’m so scared. For reference I’m 21. I’ve never had a pap smear before and i’m so so scared. I don’t know my pain tolerance but I’m not sexually active besides self pleasure (i’ve never had sex.) Can someone give me advice on the pain and what I could possibly do in preparation to make it less painful. I’m so scared but I wanted to do this but now as the time is closer I can’t stop crying 🌝
UPDATE: I just finished it and I DID in fact cry in front of the doctor…didn’t even do anything let but I was so anxious. It was uncomfortable mostly because the speculum went in dry BUT thankfully didn’t hurt too bad, just like a pinch or so and then it was done. My speculum was also plastic which I heard is less painful than the metal ones. I didn’t have to undress all the way either! But thank goodness it’s over- and thank you everyone who shared their experiences and encouragement 🫶
