Hi! I’ve been admitted to a few similarly ranked schools and received merit scholarships. My top school gave me 10k and my second school offered 20k scholarship. I submitted my seat deposit for both and ahead of the first seat deposit due date, I reached out to my first school asking them to match or more closely meet school B’s 20k scholarship. I got a general response from school A’s office basically saying they that funds may open later in the cycle (post deposit and tuition deadlines) & that they can help me see if scholarship renegotiation is an option at a later date (should funds open).
My question is 1. Has anyone had success renegotiating a merit scholarship when you’ve been rejected the first time, if so do you have any recommendations on language to include 2. What’s the best time to reach back out 3. Do I need to keep school B’s deposits active (i.e., there’s a second fee coming up and I need to pay to maintain leverage) 4. Is there any way this back backfire
