Hey, runners,
I have never been a super athlete neither was I a marathon runner, but about a year ago I was a stable 6km in under 28mins or so runner (still a beginner probably compared to all of you). As life went on I started running less and less and at the end of last summer I stopped running entirely (tried getting back to it a couple of times but it was only a few evenings and I was done...), I got lazy as hell in the recent times :/ . But now I do not have a choice anymore, as in June 19th of 2026 I will officially be trying to pass a fitness exam to get into a piloting school in my area, the requirements for this is under 13:30 (if it was even lower it would be great) in the 3km (the pull ups and the 100m sprint should be fine), the 3km is what worries me the most. Today I tried out my pace and the results are not great to say the least, according to Strava on my phone I did 3.04km in 14mins and 54s, that means that I need to be more than a minute faster than I am today, and I have only 50 days to do so, what would you do in my situation if you wanted to pass? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Kudos.
