I am currently working as a Sr. software Engineer in a service based company (permanent WFH) with a CTC of 13.81 LPA (11.91 Fixed + 1.89 Variable). I live in a Tier 2 city in Gujarat. I have recieved an offer from a small startup (7yr old medical tech) in Bangalore for 24 LPA all fixed and they are ready to bear one time relocation cost as well. The work I am doing in the current org is good and also has a short term onsite opportunity to Europe (1-2 months). My tech stack is MERN + Azure.
Even though it is a significant raise I also understand that there would be rise in the expenses Rent and Transportation which I don't have to pay right now. I am also concerned about stability which I have at current org and might not have at startup.
Another scenario that I can think of is should I take this offer and get raise from the current company? The current company might not match the exact amount but maybe we can arrive at a reasonable number since I have permanent WFH already. I feel that taking this step is like burning bridge but they won't give hike without this.
Fellow redittors please share your thoughts on what would be the right thing to do.
