Blauparts/oil change

I thought someone might find this useful. Getting ready for a DIY oil change on a 2026 P400 Defender 130. I ordered the oil change kit and air filter from Blauparts in Wisconsin. It came very packaged and timely with a cost of $205 incl. shipping. Oil is a brand I'm not familiar with but does meet the latest JLR specs. Cheers.

Off Roading Advice - Front Recovery Point

As you probably know, the from tow/recovery hook is located behind a large plastic cover with 4 screws to remove it. The manual says this:

CAUTION:

Remove the front towing eye cover before driving off-road, to prevent damage or loss. The cover must be replaced before driving on the road.

I'm headed up to the San Juans soon and will be driving the vehicle from Texas. Will be doing some off roading to the passes and some highway roads. The cover is kind of pain to remove (I did so just now). I'm having a hard time deciding if I can just leave it off for the whole trip up and back.

What have you guys done? Anybody just leave it off entirely? I really can't see why it couldn't stay off. Road noise maybe? It can't be related to dirt, mud, rain, etc. since you'll probably encounter that off roading. Many Thanks
