Title: CDN Iconic Review: The Turathi Blue "trap" and why you shouldn't judge it by the first 10 mins.
Hey guys, just wanted to drop a quick review of Armaf CDN Iconic after spending some real time with it. If you’re hunting for a solid blue fragrance or debating between this and something like Hawas Ice, hopefully this helps you out.
The Opening (The Turathi Blue Trap) When I first sprayed Iconic, I’m not going to lie, I panicked a bit. The first 10–15 minutes felt almost identical to Turathi Blue. It’s that exact same massive, sharp blast of juicy grapefruit, fresh mint, and a fizzy ginger kick. If you test this at a kiosk or a friend’s place and just judge it by the initial blast, you’re going to think it’s completely redundant if you already own a Tygar clone. But the opening is a total trap.
The Dry-down Give it about 20 to 30 minutes and the two fragrances split paths completely. Where Turathi stays light, breezy, and floats on that clean ambroxan vibe, Iconic takes a sharp turn into something much darker. As the bright citrus settles, the actual Bleu de Chanel EDP DNA shows up. You get this dense, heavy layer of smoky incense, resinous labdanum, and dark cedarwood. It goes from a casual daytime freshie to a serious, high-class corporate banger.
Performance & Longevity If your skin tends to swallow up light fresh fragrances within 2 to 3 hours (which is exactly what frustrated me with lighter scents), this is where Iconic wins. Because it anchors itself with those heavy incense and woody base notes, it actually stays glued to the skin. I’m easily getting 8+ hours out of this. It projects heavily for the first hour and a half before settling into a really solid, professional scent trail.
A quick tip if you just unboxed it: It’s an Armaf, so straight out of the box, the opening can feel a bit metallic or synthetic. These clone houses ship bottles out so fast due to high demand that the juice rarely gets time to sit. Do yourself a favor: give it 10-15 sprays to let some air into the bottle, and clear a spot in your dark wardrobe to let it mature for about 3 weeks. It completely smooths out the harsh edges and lets that smoky middle layer deepen up.
Overall, absolutely worth the pickup if you want a versatile signature that starts clean but dries down mature and dark.
