Hello, this is my first time really digging into this community and I really like what I see!
My wife and I have some money saved up and want to do a mostly DIY primary bathroom remodel. I will probably sub out some work, but mostly will do it myself. I like the idea of spending some of the savings on nicer fixtures as well. I am also open to nice panel systems vs. traditional tile for the walls, as I like the ease of cleaning as well as the guarantee of waterproofing vs. tile prep (I know this is a hot take ha), but definitely tile floor.
Overall, we want a step-in shower (maybe with a small bench), a dual vanity (it does not need to be long, just have good storage and we can have a nice medicine cabinet style mirror), a *soaker* tub (and by soaker I mean a small, deep tub to really get in there, not a giant jacuzzi), obviously a toilet, and a cabinet of some sort. I have come up with some ideas, but it usually puts the window in the shower area and I'd have to get make sure the window is wet rated which is doable but not ideal from a water damage/mold standpoint. I also would like the window to be in view of the bathtub for some scenery ha.
Regarding the tub, I am 6' tall and I don't mind a small more upright sitting bathtub as long as my legs are in the damn water. We have seen a few options online but obviously these more soaker style tubs aren't promoted heavily at local showrooms. I also don't want any water jets for cleanliness, I prefer air bubbles if we get them at all. I am open to a nice glass wall, corner tub with a shower head style thing as well, but I don't want a huge step-in every time I take a shower.
Maybe we have to ditch the tub dream entirely... dunno.
Thanks in advance!
