My personal dilemma

Hey, my name is Jonathan E. I’m making this post to ask for a little advice and support. Nothing serious, but baseball has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Recently, I was finally given an opportunity to transfer of to a new school in a new state to continue playing the sport I love at the collegiate level.

The problem is that I come from a low-income family, and financially, it’s really hard for us to make it happen. I’m not willing to put my mom in a worse financial situation just because of my dreams. I’ve been applying for scholarships and trying to find ways to make it work, but right now it’s not looking too promising.

At the same time, I’ve been working hard academically too. I currently hold a 3.7 GPA while studying Business with a minor in Sport Management at my current school as a rising sophomore. I’ve always tried to balance both athletics and academics because I want to build a successful future for myself and my family.

I was even willing to take out student loans to help make this dream possible, but not even that is enough. I still need to cover almost half of the tuition, which is close to $15,000.

So I’m here asking: should I keep fighting for my dream and take the risk, or should I move on and leave baseball behind?

No matter what happens, I’m grateful for everyone who takes the time to read this. ❤️⚾
