I am a 20-year-old language school student based in Osaka.I am currently preparing my resume to start working a part-time job (arubaito),and I want to get my finances set up properly from the start.I have absolute zero experience with credit cards or investing, land my Japanese is currently around the N4 level,so I am still learning. Most importantly,I want to make sure whatever financial accounts I open are 100% compliant with my student visa (I know I am strictly limited to the 28-hour work rule).

Could anyone offer some simple,beginner-friendly advice on the following?

  1. Credit Cards: What is the easiest and most foreigner-friendly credit card to apply for as a student with a limited part-time income?

  2. Investing: What is the best app or platform for someone looking to invest very small amounts for the first time? Also, are international students allowed to use NISA, or are there better alternatives for us?

  3. Crypto: Is it safe/legal for someone on a student visa to trade crypto in Japan?

  4. Learning Resources: Are there any specific YouTube channels, blogs, or English-language resources you recommend for learning the "ins and outs" of Japanese finance?

I want to make sure I don't accidentally trigger any visa complications or tax issues.I would really appreciate any straightforward recommendations or tips you wish you knew when you first started out in Japan.

Thank you so much for your time and help!
