Red flag buyer

Red flag buyer

Am I being unreasonable here or is this buyer trying it on? 😭

Sold a FatFace floral top on Vinted for £5 listed as “very good” condition. Not new without tags, not “perfect”, just very good. Item arrives and the buyer messages saying:

- they were “misinformed”
- it’s more “good” than “very good”
- they “don’t think they can even sell it on”
- they want either a refund, return at my cost, or a partial refund

But they haven’t actually said what is wrong with it. No photos, no mention of stains, holes, damage etc. They also said “the top is lovely” in the same message.

What annoyed me most was them saying they’d “mention it in the review” if they keep it, which honestly felt a bit like fishing for a discount through feedback pressure.

I’ve replied politely asking them to explain specifically what the issue is and to send photos through Vinted chat first.

I sell a fair bit on Vinted and I’m always happy to sort genuine problems, but this feels very “give me money back because I changed my mind” to me.

Would you offer anything here or just wait for proof of an actual issue?

UPDATE: buyer has now explained the “issues” with the £5 FatFace top 😭

This was their follow-up message:

“The description on Vinted for very good condition is the item has little wear, I feel the fabric has had more than a little wear. On arrival it was badly creased and didn't fit correctly on the collar, I ironed the collar flat which resolved the problem, there is slight stretching on the bottom of the top.”

Am I losing my mind here or are these not actual faults?

The top:
- had no stains
- no holes
- no tears
- no visible damage
- was listed as VERY GOOD, not new without tags

The “badly creased” part is especially taking me out because… yes? Clothing gets creased when folded into a parcel bag and shipped through the postal system 😭

The “collar didn’t fit correctly” was apparently fixed by ironing it flat, and the “stretching at the bottom” is literally the style of the blouse, it’s meant to be loose and flowy.

I’m obviously waiting for photos before doing anything, but right now this feels less like “item not as described” and more “I don’t personally like how this top fits.”
