Are there any albums actually similar to "Ballonerism"?

I absolutely love this album so much for so many reasons. Some notable reasons are the layered production, depressing feeling of it, and the wackiness and experimental aspect of it all. I really haven't done that much digging on finding a piece of work similar but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything similar.

What I'm searching for specifically is the psychedelic, experimental, and dark and depressing feel of it all. The word "experimental" is such a broad word and when I say that I'm really thinking of the wacky things that Mac does in the album. Like the voice changes, the cool layering he occasionally does with his voice, and the out of the ordinary sounds and song structure throughout the album.

The songs that make me really want to find similar works to is "DJ's Chord Organ", "Excelsior", and "Manakins". "DJ's Chord Organ" has such a unique sound and the progression of the whole song is just so beautiful. It's hard to describe what interests me so much about it but I think the best I can do is say that it feels very cinematic. "Excelsior" feels like a story as well as very personal. Him talking about how he wanted to be a wizard when he was a kid and then him casting spells at the end just feels so meaningful to me. The whole album really feels like a story by means of song progression and lyric content. I don't have much to say about "Manakins" in this context but I just really like the sound. "DJ's Chord Organ" is what I love the most.

Thank you to anyone that might be able to help a fella out.
