My first Automatic!!
Model: SPRE53K1 (aka Dresskx/Strapmonster)
It all started when my friend bought a clone fossil automatic..Might be a bad topic to start with but lemme just open my heart up.
The way my taste in watches evolved amazes me. Initially no more better than a kid, I liked the Chronograph complexities. It dint remain the same after seeing the skeleton clone fossil of my friend.. I got obsessed with skeleton watches. Skellies were the coolest thing for me for a while.. I was very close to buying a budget Timex automatic skeleton..
But something was off. That thing doesn't seem genuine dk why.. Amazon and Flipkart had no automatic tags written, the official website had the same watch at double price lol. Then I searched for some edifices but none of them gave a spark..
At this time, i discovered the casio MTP series. and daymn I love those dials.. They're such a beauty in a budget under 4k. I'd still buy one Casio MTP. The only turndown was their ion plated brass case.
BUT STILL THESE WATCHES CAN BE THE BEST CHOICE UNDER 5K.
Things started to go at another level when i discovered how automatic watches work from some interactive blog which was viral on reddit. I was like: "For the love of mechanics i have, I'll need to get an automatic" (im a med student btw🥀)
Another honourable mention in my watchlist was Addesdives AD2030,
I had no budget and considered this might satisfy my urge to get a smooth sweeping hand while also being almost a Quartz. I might've bought it but being messed up in international payment saved me😅.
I had a tight budget so i joined some famous groups selling used watches.. HMTs, DWCs got my sight but I guess most of them are modded in such markets (cant be sure)
Franklord watches also got my sight but they had bad reviews on Reddit.
Till the time my YT algo showed me The Seiko SNXS79 model and damn I fell in love at first sight..The simple small design and an absolute killer Grey Sunburst dial.That thing felt something different.
Was sad to see it being discontinued, used models also dint feel at a right price. Baby Grand Seiko was also a beast🔥🔥
I started appreciating the Heritage and Respect of Seiko.. Found the currently available models not through their website, again got blessed Yt feed for showing me the "Dresskx"
These were not the same as snxs79 (it's just too soulful😭).. But they have a better bracelet, Water resistance and upgraded machine with hand winding and hacking.So i made up my mind to gather a budget for this one..
Another thing, 25k inr was not justifiable for this watch but i liked it a lot.. I was already on my nerves hearing these strap monsters are also discontinued and are running on leftover stock..
Here comes Tata Cliq luxury, they had 10% off on it, another 2k off from their coupon code.. and extra card offers. I had no card from their list but ig there might not be a second chance even for this price too.. So i bought the SPRE53K1 for 20.5k inr.. I was confused with the dial and bought the blue sunburst one as a gimmick.. But boi, i wasn't disappointed atall. The blue dial dresskx is really a great color to go with.. I understand the Anthracite one has a different fanbase but i considered that it might go boring too soon..The blue dial is not so blue as shown on website.. It's almost black and simple indoors, but an absolute beauty under the Sun!! +The Kanji day window justifying my love for Japan.. I didn't go wrong with this one..
