We have shifted to a new Hall where the washrooms are sub-optimal. Only ground floor has western washroom, without the handheld bidet (famously known as the spray) having only toilet-attached bidet, and the toilet stalls themselves being quite dark (not very well lit) giving the impression of a gloomy dirty washroom.

Me and a lot of my peers aren't accustomed to Indian toilets and quite frankly prefer clean western ones (don't mind hand bidet or mug). Does anyone have any suggestions how this can be sorted out? I believe some people did approach CoSHA regarding this, but apparently this thing either isn't that high in their priority list just because technically there are western washrooms (irrespective of how well maintained they are) or this thing is getting delayed because of government institutions needing a lot of approvals to get things done.

PS: Some people may feel this is an insignificant post and I understand your perspective, but this is an inconvenience quite a few of us are facing and toilets are an everyday affair which can't be skipped or overlooked. Also, please don't write that "we should adjust", we are adjusting, but we shouldn't be forced to reduce certain standards of living. And quite frankly, I was expecting better from a top tier national institute. We want to compare ourselves to top tier international institutes in everything other than the amenities. When that comes to that, suddenly some "patriotic" people will come and say "this is better than any other institute in india". No Shit Sherlock! But if you continue to use that as a benchmark, it's going to be like that "Trash Vs Trash" meme. I really think IITK hostels should be renovated altogether, at least starting from the washrooms.

Sooo, there's this girl I recently came across, whom I find very attractive, charming, cute.

But we're from different departments and I don't know her or anyone who knows her personally, so I can't approach her via connections. I do know one of her SM handles, but texting her unsolicited is not something I am planning to do.

Before posting this, I figured out she's a Chem PhD, won't share any further details in this post, since I don't want everyone to figure out whom I am talking about. If someone from Chem PhD can help me connect with her, I would be truly grateful.

Making this post so people, preferably Y25, can drop in their hotel recommendations for the new students and their parents to stay, while the students shift into their respective hostels.

Also, if someone thinks a particular hotel is not a safe option or is sketchy please reply below the particular recommendation about the same.
