Hi everyone,
My cat is on prednisolone to clear a cough which seems to have worked. We did a dose twice a day for 10 days. Now we're in the middle of another 10 days down to a dose a day, still have 5 more days of that before tapering down further to a dose every other day.
Yesterday night he started sneezing and being a little congested. I understand steroids can suppress the immune system. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to start tapering him down early to one dose every other day to finish the course faster so that his immune system can tackle the sneezing/congestion?
My vet is unavaible to answer questions, only thing I can do is make an appointment to bring him in which would be a few days from now but would love some guidance to get handle on this best I can before that.
