I'm not getting off this ship; both are undoubtedly important to everything related to the books. I love Nynaeve. At first, she was unbearable, but as the books progressed, she softened, becoming an interesting and less dense character. She reaches her peak when she cleanses the Saidin. Now, to say that Egwene becomes unbearable is a blatant lie. "Egwene becomes unbearable as the story progresses" isn't even comparable to Nynaeve's peak of unbearability... Egwene's ending is absolutely glorious. I repeat, I love Nynaeve, she's an incredible character, but I can't accept that there are people who say Moiraine or Siuan are better than Egwene, or even Verin, for God's sake (Verin is good, but I don't think she's comparable)... Saying that a character is better because of their achievements in the world doesn't seem logical to me. Yes, Nynaeve cleansed Saidin, Nynaeve helped seal Shai'Tan, Nynaeve stood up to the Aes Sedai, Nynaeve humiliated Moghedien... But those things, aside from cleansing Saidin, don't compare to Egwene in the Tower dining with Elaida, Egwene laughing at the punishments, Egwene against Mesaana, Egwene going to the Wise Women to pay her Toh, Egwene raising Silviana... Egwene sacrificing herself in the end.
I don't understand those who say Egwene is bad or that there isn't even a female character better than her besides Nynaeve...
