Rokinon 85mm f1.2 vs f1.4
Rokinon 85mm f1.2 vs f1.4.
Which should I get?
What I shoot:
• Low-light indoor ballet
• Portraits of friends and family
• 35mm film (EOS 1n) and sometimes DSLR (Rebel SL1)
• Just a hobby
Price comparison:
• f1.2: $540 (MF)
• f1.4: $500 (with AF), $400 (MF)
Is one considerably sharper than the other? Is the difference between f1.2 and f1.4 worth it for low light (1/3rd stop) and portrait DOF effects? What about losing the autofocus? I have used the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine lens and gotten great results despite its manual focus.
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
