Best realistic uses for Hilton Amex Free Night Rewards?
I’ve got a Hilton Amex Free Night Reward and my wife has one too, so we’re trying to figure out the best way to actually use them.
I know they’re supposed to work at most Hilton properties as long as there’s a standard room available, but in practice I’m not seeing much at the places I expected. For example, I checked Waldorf Astoria options in NYC, Chicago, and DC, but couldn’t really find standard room availability.
For people who’ve used these before: where have you had good success redeeming them? Are there any tricks for finding standard room availability, or is it mostly just checking often and calling in?
Also, can two separate certificates from two accounts be combined cleanly for a 2-night stay, or does that get messy?
Would appreciate any real-world tips or good redemption ideas.
