I'm just curious, honestly. I breathed through all the novels that are out now in about 2 weeks. And I love them, no question. I started reading after finishing the show, I had an impression the romance was kind of central to the show, but in the books after a certain point, it feels like it's on a back burner cooking veeeery slowly.

So after finishing the books I sit here wondering: is it really a romance novel or did I get the wrong impression from the show?

To be completely honest it doesn't change my opinion about the books one way or the other, I'm still excited for ln 16 in may. But I'm just curious
