I’m 55 and am thinking about changing careers to become a dog groomer. I recently lost my job working in the environmental sector and those jobs aren’t coming back any time soon. I love dogs, and I can afford to go to dog grooming school and possibly buy a grooming van (I already have a truck that could pull it). Am I crazy to think this would be a viable option for supporting myself at this time in my life? I love dogs and think I’d enjoy it. My boyfriend thinks I’m too old and that I’m crazy for considering it. Anyone out there have experience with coming to this field later in life?
