Sateeshan era - what is in store for tvm

Hey everyone,
With V.D. Satheesan officially named the next CM today, I’ve been thinking about what this means for the capital.
I’m not a "party person"—I don't care about the flags—but as someone who lives here and wants to see Kerala grow, it’s hard not to notice the disparity. For years, it feels like Kochi has walked away with the lion's share of private investment, nightlife, and "metro-city" vibes, while Trivandrum often feels stuck in its identity as a "quiet government hub."
Yes, we have the Vizhinjam Port finally nearing its full potential and the Digital Science Park in the works, but the ground-level pace of infrastructure (like the Light Metro) and high-end private sector growth always seems to lag behind Ernakulam.
V.D. Satheesan is known for being quite articulate and data-driven, and he’s been vocal about "New Kerala" and stopping the "brain drain." But since he hails from the Kochi belt (Paravur), do you think he will have the vision to specifically push Trivandrum as a global tech/logistics powerhouse, or will the focus remain heavily on the Ernakulam-central Kerala corridor?
My questions for the sub:

  1. Do you think a change in leadership will actually speed up stalled projects like the Trivandrum Light Metro or the Outer Ring Road?
  2. What is the one specific project you think the new CM should prioritize to put TVM on par with Kochi's growth?
  3. Is it just me, or does the capital feel neglected in terms of private commercial development (malls, entertainment hubs, etc.) compared to the North?
Would love to hear some non-toxic, development-focused perspectives.
