Death Note, Burnt Page Trick

Death Note, Burnt Page Trick

SPOILER - READ ONLY IF YOU'VE FINISHED THE MANGA/ANIME -

I'm just finishing reading Death Note Special 13, and a rather peculiar rule came up.

Basically, if you write a name, date, etc. on a piece of the Death Note page and then burn it, that person will die anyway.

And you could even take advantage of it by writing names and dates forward in time, then burning everything and erasing the evidence.

If Light had done this, he would certainly have been much safer (there would have been literally zero physical evidence).

The only thing that comes to mind is that perhaps Light wasn't aware of this rule.

What do you think?
