is a 5 year old i5-10400 to a new ryzen 7 5700G a worthwile upgrade.
Most of my current build is about 5 years old (i5-10400, 16Gb ram and mobo) and I use it both for gaming and for work every day. Not to long ago I upgraded my GPU to a RX 6600 and I am sometimes noticing my CPU bottleneck.
Since I already have DDR4 ram and don't plan on going the DDR5 route in this economy, and because I worry if any of my components break I wouldn't have a backup I started looking in to upgrading to a 5700G + mobo I found a decent deal for.
Since I still have my previous GPU I could without too much investment use the parts I swap out in to something to hook up to my TV for couch play, make in to a home server or just keep as a spare PC.
Would it be worth the upgrade?
(sidenote, i'm 100% fine with 1080p gaming since my displays all cap at 1080 and 1440 or 4k just wouln't work)
