Hi there, I’m looking for some advice on the best set up for air-conditioning my apartment. The building is a 100 year-old barn that was turned into 6 apartment units with exposed beams and feels like a cottage. My apartment is located on the 2nd/3rd floor. The kitchen is on the 2nd floor with stairs leading up to the living room, bathroom, sitting room and bedroom.
My problem is I’ve been using 1 window AC unit upstairs on the 3rd floor and a fan to push the air into other rooms. The 3rd floor basically feels like a hot attic so in the summertime if I leave the AC unit off during the day, the temperature gets up too well over 100°F.
Any advice on how to tackle this heat? Creative solutions and/or unit recommendations are appreciated! Cost effective and energy efficient ideas would be a major plus as well.
