Few years ago I was belittled by music teacher for skipping classes when I was suffering from a migraine.
Recently found this community and love how supportive people are! Since we all suffer and might empathize I am just sharing this little story here. I have always wanted to learn playing an instrument and fine tune my singing. So back in 2019 I joined music classes. Back then i used to get migraines almost every 25 days (that frequency seems like a dream now). So i'd miss 2 to 3 classes a month. Initially my instructor said that he empathizes and flat out told me a cure that i should add salt to my water and drink in regularly, my headaches happen because of electrolyte imbalance. I was like okay whatever, assume what you want. Then few months down the line another student caught COVID, by now the classes were online and she still showed up on the video class coughing and what not. Few days after that he taunted in front of whole class that my students do not miss classes even when they have COVID, that is dedication and some people miss just because of a headache and I have zero pity for them.
It hurt bad, my sensitivity to sound pleasant or unpleasant makes it especially excuriciating to do anything music. Even if that wasnt a problem the headaches themselves are very debilitating.
Felt so bad after this mockery that I just stopped the classes :(
Just a lil anecdote never shared with anyone just felt like sharing here
