I was made a victim a fake tracking code and both my claim and appeal was denied. Learn from my mistakes.

I'm at my wits end with this. I ordered a 257 dollar computer off of Ebay for what I thought was a good deal. I don't usually buy from Ebay so it wasn't really a red flag for me that the person who was selling the item was a new account and had only this listing. They inputted a tracking number from the same state I'm in from UPS and it was marked as delivered even though they never sent the package. Claim from UPS denied because the package was never sent to me. Claim and appeal both denied by Ebay because it was marked as delivered by UPS, even though, again, the package was never even sent to me. The tracking code was for some delivery between two construction job sites. Despite trying to explain this, my appeal was denied and I'm so incredibly bitter about it.

I'm a broke college student and basically never spend money on luxuries. at this point its not even about the money. If I could ensure this person didn't profit from fleecing me that's enough. Learn from my mistakes. use PayPal because they have robust return policy apparently. vet a sellers account. if this still happens to you, get a written statement from UPS or a shipping provider for "Evidence", (because literally how else am I supposed to prove I never received something?), And contest the charge with your bank. Attack it from all fronts so you can say to yourself you went down fighting. Only the charge from my bank is still being contested so it looks like I just lose here, but if you don't try people like this just always win.

most importantly, file a claim with ebay as item not described instead of item never received. in cases like this where it's marked as delivered you just get an AI response.
