I love being Brazilian because Hilda Furacão exists.

( I can't post it, but the link... https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSxUjwqf/ )

Anxiety in Asian fandoms

Isao is more of a venting session than a major problem.

But I got into a huge fandom for a Chinese work. It's the first thing I've really consumed since Avatar, and I started writing some fanfiction based on it. But this is the first time I'm writing for an Eastern fandom, even though I used to write in my native language (Portuguese).

It's funny because I feel like I have a need to research a lot of things about relationships, terms, culture. Sometimes even too much, even if the original work has creative liberties.

Again, it's not a huge problem, but I really feel I need to portray some things more faithfully, even though, for example, I've already said I'll take liberties with how the characters see themselves As an example, I've already said that sibling relationships will be in the Brazilian style because I like it that way.

I just feel like I'll be disrespecting the people who live in China if I make too many changes. Because my country is usually portrayed that way. I've seen a lot of fanfiction where people simply don't do their research and They include things that would obviously be impossible.

What I wanted to ask is: Do you feel this way too?Perhaps it is the outrage of the global north that portrays Latin America so poorly.

Is there some kind of guide to the universe?

Edit: My biggest reference is Avatar: The Last Airbender :/ (I don't have a problem reading text. I just really don't know where to start besides some Buddhist and Taoist stuff.)

Recommendation for a Jesus fanfic?

Does anyone have a fanfic recommendation where people start treating WWX as some kind of Jesus/Messiah/savior? Similar to Dune?

I tried searching on AO3 but honestly I didn't really know what to look for beyond those words. But it would be something like, after his death, people start venerating him for being a hero and turning him into a myth and then a god. When he comes back to life, people only reinforce this idea.

😭 Someone must have written this or something similar.

Help finding a Lan Zhan and Shizu fanfic.

A friend of mine read this fanfic but doesn't know the name and would love it if someone knew. Basically, it's a fanfic where Lan Zhan and Shizu have an identity crisis reflecting on the rules of the series. And because of that, they start breaking everything.
