Hey guys,

I'm a B.Tech student thinking about exiting after 3rd year using the NEP multiple exit option. If my college allows it, I'll get a BSc (Engineering/Science) degree after 6 semesters instead of completing the full 4-year B.Tech.

I'm interested in research and want to apply for Pre-Doctoral Fellowships or pre-doc programs at IITs/IISc etc.

Has anyone here actually done this? Like, exited B.Tech in 3rd year with a BSc via NEP and then got into any pre-doc fellowship or research position?

- Did the BSc get accepted as a valid bachelor's degree for those programs?

- Which pre-doc fellowships worked (or didn't work) with a 3-year degree?

- Any issues with eligibility or did they treat it same as a normal BSc?

Would love to hear real experiences — success stories, rejections, or even "bro, don't do it" advice. Even small details would help a lot.

Thanks in advance
