Hi everyone,

I’m running into a strange issue with Google Chrome and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.

Whenever I download a file, the file actually downloads successfully and opens fine, but Chrome does not mark the download as completed. It just stays on the progress bar as if it’s still downloading.

What I’m seeing:

• File shows “Done” briefly or downloads fully
• Progress bar continues or doesn’t finalize properly
• Multiple downloads end up showing as incomplete or canceled in history
• Files are present on disk and usable

What I’ve already tried:

• Disabled all extensions
• Cleared cache and browsing data
• Reset Chrome settings
• Tried Incognito mode
• Changed download location
• Restarted Chrome / PC
• Checked antivirus and Windows Defender settings

Still no luck.

Questions:

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Any known fix or root cause?
