Advice Needed
I’ve had my Luba 3 AWD now for about five weeks. Despite the software challenges recently introduced my machine works and I generally like it. My challenges are more about how to successfully manage my mowing and here’s where I could use some guidance from more experienced users.
I have a larger yard. I mow about an acre of grass. When I got this unit in July scheduling the mowing was easy, it was dry and I could go many days in between and keep up. But as we’ve moved into August the rain has returned. Now my grass is growing at an incredible rate and the challenge has become keeping up. The day light hours are getting shorter and the grass is very wet in the morning. If we have a few days without rain the earliest I can get out is about 10:30. The latest I can cut is about 20:00. If it rains, the grass is much wetter and I have found it can’t get out until sometimes as late at 13:00.
I’ve tried cutting wet, it left really bad clumps, and given the way this machine cuts it’s not good at cleaning them up on subsequent days. I am currently cutting very short, I’m finding the shortest setting is not too short. I’m running blades at high speed, using the default speed and mowing path interval. I’ve considered speeding it up and increasing the interval to use less time to mow, but have not yet done that.
I’m wondering if I’m just asking too much of this machine and approach. Perhaps, given the operating environment, it just can’t be done without having more raw capacity than this machine can deliver.
I’m looking for any advice or tricks anyone has discovered to make this more manageable. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
