Partner got fired am i crazy for thinking these are crazy reasons

My bf was a forklift mechanic. It was previously allowed that as long as he clocked in on his work computer and had his work phone near him ready to receive work orders he was allowed to start his day with training videos. And the day he slept in was on his week on call where he was on a job till 2 am the night before, and it was told to him that on call weeks aslong as he worked 8 hrs he was allowed to sleep in.

They kept changing policies over and over and it was confusing all the techs.

And bring up his write up from 9 months ago from a notoriously rude customer baffled me.

End of the day he was a good tech and his customers really liked him because he always completed jobs and didn't leave forklifts down for days.

Personally i think they fired him for these petty reasons bc he was one of the highest paid techs and worked an insane amount of overtime that corporate didn't want to pay him for all if it.

Edit bc im tired of repeating myself:

For clarification my partner was a field technician, meaning he did not have to show up to an office or wearhouse to clock in. He drove a company van and was paid key to key. When they hired him they told him he could start at anytime from 7:30 am - 9 am. My partner for the last two years has started his day around 8:30-9 am.

As for the training videos from the time he was hired to about two months ago. The procedure on completing training videos was to do it during work hours and to never complete them for overtime. The only requirement was to be clocked in and to log in a company wide excel sheet what videos you did and how long it took. At no point did they have to inform management they were doing training videoss because it was part of their job tasks and also had deadlines on when it needed to be completed.

As for the sleeping in. When my boyfriend started on call almost a year ago, they gave leeway to the person who was on call. If they worked late into the night they could either finish their 8 hrs because technically they were in the next day or start the next day later in the day. And didn't have to complete a full 8 hour shift. They service companies like Amazon and home depot so you would be surprised with how often he got a call and only my boyfriend had to service two territory no other tech was required to do that so he was getting twice the calls anyone else would get.

As for the policy changes. They announced them during a company wide meeting at a restaurant after work hours. Multiple changes were discussed that entire conference. There was a lot of changes specifically made to the duties of the field techs and a lot of people including my boyfriend were confused. Not only him but Multiple techs tried to reachout to management for clarification on the new policies and were mostly stonewalled or told wrong information (Most of these conversations happened over the phone)

Multiple times since my boyfriend has been working there has he been told he was one of the best techs they had and one of the most adaptive and willing to learn. So to hear that then told that they were uncooperative and uncommunicative is crazy.

To be honest im not worried about my partners future hes an extremely hard worker and even during this time of unemployment i know he will be working his ass off doing side work or helping our friend who owns a construction company. He will be fine. This whole situation is just hurtful.

Took a break from the pod

Ive been doing more outdoor activities (you know touching grass) and i dont like just listening to the pod bc theres so many funny clips.

But i pop in the sub once in a while to see whats going on and damn a lot has happened but even tho im not an active view right now im still proud of Ethan and everything he is doing to protect his children.

I am a teacher and a reality of my job is making the decision if i would take a bullet for my kids. So i can only imagine what a parent would go through to protect their children. The leaked message about finding bruces pre school made me sick.

But it really is a true testament to his love as a father that his is willingly ready to take even more public scrutiny from the internet as a whole just to make sure they are safe. The grass will be greener once this is all done.

Keep it up ethan, great moves!
