[Acne] Purge or Ruining Skin?
Hii I have had acne most of my twenties and have tried expensive dermatology clinics, whole skincare lines, tons of products, you name it. The think I haven’t tried is retinol.
So I got the good molecules gentle retinol cream because I wanted to start easy. The good thing is, I’ve always thought of my skin as sensitive, but this retinol really doesn’t make my skin feel dry or irritated at all. However I started using it about 10 days ago and my skin is so textured and I have gotten so many new pimples, mainly white heads or what kinda looks like closed comedones.
Usually my acne is only on my chin / jaw and like pretty red deep ones, but this is all over. Can I get advice on if this is the process of the retinol working and I should keep going, or if it is ruining my skin and doing damage? I’m pretty discouraged. I didn’t get great pictures but my forehead, which previously has been the one part of my face that’s always clear of texture, has a bunch of acne now too, just teeny tiny ones. In natural lighting you can see much more texture than these bumps.
Ps. I have remnants of henna freckles on my temples so the brown spots are not applicable lol
