I bought a GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX) to mainly use as a repeater when I am in a stadium to boost the stadium wifi while I am photographing and editing photos to send to my editor during the game. I have used it a couple times with no issues at collegiate stadiums and buildings where the wifi wasn't strong.
I brought it to a high school to do the same while my daughter was at a meet so I could do some editing while she wasn't activity playing. I was able to connect the B-AX to the wifi that required a pw, which I obtained and have my computer connect to the B-AX. But when I went into Safari to reach the internet, I couldn't do anything. The B-AX was connected but with no Internet when I looked on the Dashboard of B-AX. I thought it was the VPN that I have enabled on the B-AX using the built in setup for SurfShark. Turned that off and still same issue.
There was no splash screen for the school wifi. Type in the pw and you are connected. To make sure I wasn't doing anything incorrect, I connected my laptop directly to the school wifi and was on the internet on Safari like I would be at home, but thru the B-AX I couldn't.
I am mildy tech savvy on seting up and using but on next level issues with DNS/MAC/etc topics with networking I am out of my realm of debugging. Is there something I needed to do to get this work as a repeater in that situation? Can someone walk me thru it step by step? If you need more info I can try to provide it. Would like to understand this as I cover HS sports so I will be at other schools that may have this issue pop up on me.
Thanks.
