Forza Horizon 6 review (A Personal Take)
Hey everyone,
Just booted up Forza Horizon 6 and wanted to share my immediate thoughts, because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here.
The action kicks off immediately after the intro cutscene, transitioning you from the tarmac straight onto the ice in a buggy Thats exactly where I felt it, the stuff I will say here.
Visually? It’s a masterpiece. The graphics are arguably a step above Forza Horizon 5, especially with what feels like a noticeably wider color range and better HDR optimization. The scenic beauty of the Japan map is top-tier, the Japanese voice announcements add an incredible layer of immersion, and from what I've seen on early online posts, this map is going to be massive and fun to explore.
BUT we need to talk about the actual core of the game: the driving physics.
I’ve played FH4, FH5, and now FH6. I love this franchise. I literally learned so much about car mechanics, engine configurations, and transmission tuning because of what Forza offers in the garage. The modification depth is fantastic as always.
But the actual driving experience on the road? It feels like total BS.
When you transition from dry tarmac to actual ice, or onto grass and mud, the friction and gravity profile barely changes. The cars don't feel like they have 3,000 lbs of weight compressing tires into a physical surface—they feel like they are floating in the air on a cushion of frictionless soap. The physical feedback of hitting different terrain feels completely uniform, and it completely pulls me out of the immersion. It feels more like controlling an air-hockey puck than a high-performance machine.
Is it really just me? Does the community not get bothered by this absolute lack of surface friction, or is everyone just giving it a pass because the graphics are shiny and the setting is beautiful?
I want to love this game, but right now, the floaty handling is killing it for me. What do you guys think?
