Has anyone been through episodes of delusions months after quitting?

I have a loved one who has been sober from weed 200 days. A lot of things have improved but he also seems to have paranoia or magical thinking that is persisting. I thought these symptoms would fade after getting sober (he smoked heavy for a decade) but if anything they’re getting worse.

I have to give up the lattes….

I’ve cut desserts, candies, pastries ice cream etc - all my trigger foods. I don’t even crave them anymore. I’ve even cut down on bread and pasta or at least eat it with protein.

I thought I could hang on to my vanilla espresso lattes or pandan matcha lattes but… I have become so obsessive about getting and obtaining them. Like they are a milkshake. I haven’t been drinking them responsibly.

I wanted to be able to have this one thing but I don’t think I can moderately consume them.

Yes I could leave the sweetener out … and that’s what I think I have to do or not have them at all.

Anyone else experience this? Or a situation akin. Slowly peeling all the layers away.
