So I have been really good at self teaching myself things I've taught myself how to program, play guitar, dj, etc all from youtube without paying for any course

However, getting into the edm production world it seems a little harder to find content and less straight forward than everything else i've tried learning. Theres so much I can get lost down a rabbit hole and its not as straight forward on what i should be learning.

As my free time becomes less and less I want to be more efficient. I know it will take time im not looking for a way to "learn fast" but where should I put my focus in to teach myself? Im a little overwhelmed as I love all sorts different subgenres of house, alot of the tutorials use different software versions/plugins etc. Just looking for tips on how I can actually find resources to learn, and if there are courses that are genuinly worth it im not opposed. I'd prefer to stick to abelton but should I buy a full license or wait?

Hey all wanted to post out here. Wanted to find a few folks that would wanna start a groupchat/discord where we can share music, mixes, talk about artists, etc. None of my friends share this passion and would love to talk with other newer djs that are also in a similar boat! I primarily mix bass/tech house but I really love all subgenres of house. Located in cali would be a plus, but idc where your located just looking for others to share this with!

So i'm primarily a house dj, but I like practicing mixing pop or hiphop every now and then. However, my passion for these genres are nowhere near the same so I kind of dread practicing. Im kind of trying to get myself to be good at this genres cause I do like playing for friends that don't like edm also but find myself dreading spending time practicing sometimes, and get demotivated cause i suck at mixing pop compared to house. Any advice?
